It took me a long time to get clear on my own preferences. I spent much of my life seeking approval for the things I did and basing my preferences on the things I thought would bring me that approval. When the approval wasn't received in the way I needed to receive it, I would move onto another thing. I would try to fit into the mold of another's ideas of who I should be. ⠀⠀

Eventually, I began to realise what a frivolous task this was. I began to realise that seeking validation outside of myself was never going to leave me feeling satisfied. I began to realise that waking my own path, without a need for approval, made me ridiculously happy. ⠀⠀

So, now I get to be ridiculous and happy. And I'm grateful for this lesson. ⠀⠀
